# Dinner for Four: Steve Bannon, Woody Allen, and Jeffrey Epstein's Island Invitation
**Steve Bannon — the populist, the nationalist, the man who built his brand on tearing down the elite — had dinner with Jeffrey Epstein and Woody Allen. Just the four of them. He was invited to Epstein's island two months before the FBI showed up. The FBI found text messages between Bannon and Epstein on his iPhone and decided they "aren't responsive to our warrant." They also found a photo of Donald Trump with Ghislaine Maxwell on the same phone and decided there was "no need to do anything with this one." We found 25 government-released documents. Here's what's in them.**
The Four-Person Dinner
**April 26, 2018.** Epstein's staff sends the evening instructions:
> "Dinner will be 4 total people! Woody, Soon Yi, Steve and Jeffrey."
Four people at a dinner table. **Woody Allen**, **Soon-Yi Previn**, **Steve Bannon**, and **Jeffrey Epstein**. Not a fundraiser. Not a conference. Not a gala with two hundred names and plausible deniability. Four chairs.
This is ten years after Epstein's conviction for procuring a minor for prostitution. Eight months after Bannon left the White House. And the man who told America he was fighting the coastal elite is having an intimate dinner with a convicted sex offender and a director credibly accused of molesting his own adopted daughter.

The Barak Dinner
**March 22, 2018.** One month earlier. The evening schedule reads:
> "7:00pm Dinner w/Ehud and Bannon"
**Ehud Barak** — former Prime Minister of Israel, former Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, former Defense Minister — is dining with Steve Bannon at Jeffrey Epstein's home.
The scheduling shows Bannon arrived at 6:45pm. Barak was already there at 6:00pm. Epstein met with Barak first, then Bannon joined for dinner. The former leader of a nuclear-armed state and the architect of Trump's "America First" agenda, at the same dinner table, hosted by a convicted sex offender.
Two days later — March 24 — the same dining room hosted a Skype call with **Reid Hoffman**, a phone call with **Joi Ito**, dinner with **Woody Allen**, and lunch with **Kathy Ruemmler** and **Miro** and Bannon again. One 48-hour window. The switchboard in action.

The Island Invitation
**May 1, 2019.** The email goes to Bannon:
> "Happy to help coordinate tickets to Jeffrey's island off St. Thomas Saturday May 4 — Monday May 6."
Passport copies requested. Three rooms booked at the Ritz. Logistics coordinated through **Daphne Wallace**.
The dates matter. **May 4-6, 2019.** Jeffrey Epstein was arrested on **July 6, 2019.** Two months. Bannon was being invited to the private island that prosecutors would later describe as the site of systematic sexual abuse of minors.
Whether he went is not in the documents. That he was invited — with passport coordination and hotel rooms — is.

The Watch
**January 2019.** Epstein begins a gifting operation. Luxury watches. The logistics run through Bannon's nephew, **Sean Bannon**.
Lesley Groff — the assistant named in the federal indictment — coordinates FedEx shipments from "Jeffrey E. Epstein." Sean writes back:
> "I'll have him wear it next time he meets with JE."
The staff tracks delivery:
> "Did Steve Bannon get his watch?"
And the detail that makes it personal:
> "Both watches the same or is there a special one for him?"
Two watches. One standard, one special. Epstein wasn't just gifting — he was calibrating.

The Lunches
The dinner and the island get the headlines. The lunches tell the real story.

Five documented meetings in four months. January through April 2018. This isn't someone who wandered into one event. This is a standing relationship.
And then the inquiry that reveals how embedded Bannon was:
> "Has Steve been to JE's today or yesterday, he is on cnbc soon"
Staff tracking Bannon's visits to Epstein's home in relation to his television appearances. The logistics of managing a public figure's proximity to a convicted sex offender.

The FBI Knew
**April 12, 2021.** An Assistant U.S. Attorney emails a colleague about evidence recovered from Steve Bannon's devices during the **We Build The Wall** fraud investigation:
> "Text messages between Steve Bannon and Jeffrey Epstein on Bannon's iPhone 7. They aren't responsive to our warrant."
The FBI forensically extracted Bannon's phone using **Cellebrite** — the same tool used to crack San Bernardino. They found text messages between Bannon and Epstein. And they put them back in the drawer.
"Aren't responsive to our warrant" means the texts existed but fell outside the scope of the We Build The Wall investigation. They were looking for fraud, not sex trafficking. Finding evidence of a different crime on someone's phone creates a legal gray area. But "aren't responsive" is not the same as "aren't relevant."

The Photo
**June 11, 2021.** Two months later. The same Cellebrite extraction. A different finding:
> "I found an image of Trump and Ghislaine Maxwell on Bannon's phone."
The FBI forensic analyst flags it. Sends a screenshot. The response:
> "No need to do anything with this one."
Six words. A photograph of the President of the United States with the woman convicted of sex trafficking minors, found on the phone of his former chief strategist, and the institutional response is six words.

What This Means
Steve Bannon built a political movement on the idea that a corrupt elite was destroying America. He told working-class voters that he was fighting the system from the inside.
Between January 2018 and May 2019, he had at least five documented dinners and lunches with a convicted sex offender. He sat across from Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn at a table set for four. He dined with a former Israeli Prime Minister at the same address. He was invited to a private island that prosecutors would later identify as a crime scene. He accepted luxury watches delivered through his nephew. And the FBI found text messages between him and Epstein on his phone and decided they weren't worth pursuing.
The populist was a regular at the pedophile's dinner table. The nationalist was dining with the former leader of a foreign intelligence state. The man who claimed to fight the elite was accepting gifts from the most connected sex offender in American history.
