# Jake Lang and the Two-Tier Justice System in Minneapolis

A pardoned January 6th rioter commits a felony. Gets released. Commits assault two days later. Doesn't get re-arrested.
Meanwhile, protesters placing sex toys on fences get hit with an LRAD sound cannon and 42 are hauled off in cuffs.
This is Minneapolis in February 2026.
The Jake Lang Timeline
January 2021: The Original Crimes
Edward Jacob "Jake" Lang, 30, of Lake Worth, Florida, was indicted on **11 federal counts** for his actions on January 6th:
- Assault on law enforcement officers
- Civil disorder
- Obstruction of an official proceeding
- Multiple weapons charges
Video showed Lang beating police officers with a baseball bat at the Capitol.
January 2025: The Pardon
Trump pardoned Lang along with other J6 defendants. Eleven counts. Baseball bat. Pardoned.
February 5, 2026: The Ice Sculpture
Lang traveled to Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge. At the Minnesota State Capitol, he kicked apart a $6,250 ice sculpture that spelled "PROSECUTE ICE" - rearranging it to say "PRO ICE."
**Charge:** First-degree damage to property (FELONY)
**Maximum:** 5 years prison, $10,000 fine
**Bail:** Released on own recognizance
**Court date:** March 3, 2026
February 7, 2026: The U-Haul Attack
Two days after his felony arrest, Lang showed up at the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis. In a rented U-Haul truck. With masked supporters. A large cross. Paintball guns. And bags of convenience store ice.
They drove past anti-ICE protesters and opened fire.
**Victim:** Patricia Eguino, a DC activist, was pepper-sprayed directly.
**Result:** Lang was not re-arrested.
The U-Haul Question
Here's what nobody is asking:
**Who signed the U-Haul rental agreement?**
In most states, individuals with pending felony charges cannot legally rent vehicles. The rental company runs background checks. A felony defendant two days post-arrest should not be able to walk into a U-Haul location and drive out with a truck.
**If Lang signed:** That's rental fraud - another felony.
**If someone else signed:** That's conspiracy to commit assault.
Either way, someone committed a crime to make that U-Haul attack happen.
Meanwhile, At the Whipple Building
After Lang's paintball attack, anti-ICE protesters responded with "Operation Dildo Blitz" - placing sex toys on fences, road signs, and near the ICE building.
