# Kathy Ruemmler Goldman Sachs Resignation: What the Epstein Documents Actually Show
Kathy Ruemmler resigned from Goldman Sachs on February 13, 2026. Every major outlet — CNBC, CNN, NPR, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, PBS, NBC — reported the same thing: Goldman Sachs' General Counsel stepped down over Epstein ties revealed in DOJ documents.
None of them told you which documents. We will.
The Documents
**EFTA02386175** — January 8, 2015. Kathy Ruemmler emails Jeffrey Epstein: "John Brennan gave me the CIA Agency Medal (the CIA's highest award) this morning. How cool is that?"
Former White House Counsel to President Obama. Emailing a convicted sex offender about receiving the CIA's highest honor. From the Director of the CIA personally.
**Separate email chain** — Epstein discusses retaining "Cathy Rummeler" — who "has left as Obama's counsel and has joined Latham and Watkins" — to "sheppard through the structure of the DAF" (Donor Advised Fund). The work covered "regulatory, tax, etc."
Former White House Counsel → hired by a convicted sex offender → to structure his charitable giving vehicles → while bragging to him about CIA medals.
**"Victim's rights, my ass"** — Ruemmler's comment about Epstein's trafficking survivors, found in the same document collection. This is the General Counsel of Goldman Sachs, a firm managing $2.8 trillion in assets.
