# The Commerce Secretary Was Epstein's Neighbor
The DOJ released over 3 million pages of Epstein documents. We indexed them. Here is what we found about Howard Lutnick.
Who Is Howard Lutnick?
Howard Lutnick is the current Secretary of Commerce. President Trump picked him for this job. Before that, he was the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, a big Wall Street company.
What The Documents Show
We found two important documents about Lutnick in the Epstein files.
**The First Document: An FBI Tip**
On October 19, 2020, someone called the FBI to report information about Howard Lutnick. The caller was from the United Kingdom. He had worked in New York from 2015 to 2017.
The FBI wrote down what he said. The document number is EFTA00020515.
The caller told the FBI that Howard Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, was *Jeffrey Epstein's neighbor*. He believed some suspicious money activities at the company could be connected to the Epstein case.
The caller said he had paperwork to prove his claims. He was willing to give it to the FBI.
This tip went into the FBI's National Threat Operations Center. The case number was 50D-NY-3027571. The subject line said: *EPSTEIN, JEFFREY; CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING*.
**The Second Document: An Email Chain**
The second document is from May 28, 2018. The document number is EFTA02246563.
This email shows Lutnick and Epstein working together on a legal fight. They were both trying to stop the Frick Collection museum from expanding. The museum wanted to build right across from their homes.
Lutnick wrote to neighbors asking them to fight the museum's plans. He wrote:
*"You should put in a letter. I'm sending a lawyer. Don't ignore this. They will build exactly across from you 1. A bus and group entrance, 2 a loading dock for party rentals, 3 a massive building to block your sunlight and views."*
Someone forwarded this to Epstein. The response came back:
*"Jeffrey has responded: WILL DO!"*
This proves they were neighbors. It proves they were talking. It proves they were working together on something - even if it was just fighting a museum.
Why This Matters
Howard Lutnick is now in charge of the Department of Commerce. He helps run the country's trade policy. He has a lot of power.
The FBI had a tip in 2020 saying he might be connected to the Epstein case. We do not know if the FBI ever looked into it.
The email proves he lived next door to Epstein. They were neighbors on the same block - East 71st Street in Manhattan. They talked. They worked together on at least one thing.
This does not mean Lutnick did anything wrong. Being someone's neighbor is not a crime. But the American people should know that a Cabinet member had this connection.
