The Documents
Two nearly identical letters appear in the EFTA release:
• EFTA00007581 (OCR artifacts present)
• EFTA00007609 (cleaner copy)
Both are letters from Jeffrey Epstein to someone named Alberto, refusing to accept his resignation from an interior design project.
What the Letters Reveal
The "Family Member" Language
Epstein opens with manipulation:
"I received your short letter with great disappointment. Unfortunately, today, I cannot accept your 'resignation'. I'm sorry, but it is not that simple to abandon a 'family member', no matter how frustrating or good-looking he may be."
The "good-looking" comment is gratuitous and inappropriate in a business context. The "family member" framing is classic coercive control language.
The Island Project
"I am sure you have forgotten, but you had initially assured me that the island project would be done for last Christmas. I have always been both gracious and generous in forgiving the dates that have slipped by."
The project was significantly delayed. Epstein characterizes himself as "gracious" while applying pressure.
Moroccan Style Design
"As you know, we have bought many things for the interior and have incurred great expense to get permits and drawings in a Moroccan style"
The island structures were being designed with a specific Moroccan aesthetic. This aligns with witness descriptions of Little St. James architecture.
Cabinet Pinto
"If Jean, who I have great respect for, does not want to complete it as I believe he is only an employee and as I have my total relationship with Jean, but with Cabinet Pinto, the obligation falls on you personally."
Cabinet Pinto is an interior design firm. Alberto appears to be either the principal or a senior designer. "Jean" is mentioned as an employee who had promised completion by end of July.
The Big House
"I would hope that you will reconsider the big house Island"
Reference to what appears to be the main residence on Little St. James.
The Coercion
"It is both unfair, unfriendly and unprofessional to simply leave a job undone in the middle. This is not your way. I don't believe that you would treat a less friendly client with the same disregard."
Epstein frames abandoning the project as a personal betrayal, not a business decision.

- Alberto felt his appreciation "has not been adequately expressed"
- They "have not spoken directly"
6. What did Alberto see?
- Interior designers have access to private spaces
- Multiple visits over extended project timeline
- May have witnessed activities on the island
The Pattern
This letter fits a documented Epstein pattern:
1. Trap through employment - Create financial/professional dependency
2. "Family" framing - Blur professional and personal boundaries
3. Refuse exit - "I cannot accept your resignation"
4. Apply guilt - "unfair, unfriendly and unprofessional"
5. Remind of generosity - "gracious and generous"
The same pattern appears in his relationships with pilots, schedulers, and other staff.
